To be a successful business owner you have to love what you do.  With that said, it is a passion of mine to design jewelry that enhances the beauty of women.  My name is Ms. Maria and I am a 27-year-old mother with an 8-year-old son. It all started in 2006 while being a stay-at-home mom & I would attend MOPS (Mother’s of Preschooler’s).  MOPS is a group where moms would get together for food, inspirational stories & fellowship. At the end of every session there was a craft.  On one particular day the craft was to make jewelry.  There wasn’t enough time left in the group for me to make what I wanted so I decided to take what I was making home along with the left over materials which were a variety of beads. From there I let my hands do the magic. The pieces that I started out designing were strictly for my personal collection, but as I would wear the jewelry out while doing my running around I started to get a lot of inquiries.  The compliments motivated me to pursue this as a business so that I may reach financial freedom as well as make time for me & my son. From then on I started my own home-based business; My Precious Designs©.
 
Precious Memory Lane© - Contrary to disbelief, I started Precious Memory Lane©  Personalized Keepsakes & etc before My Precious Designs© jewelry.  I've always liked working with computer graphics & every now & then when special ocassions came around I would design my own cards, flyers, business cards, plaques, etc.  As time went on I started to add that personalized touch with people's pictures & names on what I would design.  In attending a babyshower back in 2004 I decided to make the mom-to-be some personalized candy bar wrappers & they were a smash!  I got business from that babyshower & it took off from there.  When I graduated from high school I wanted something that would capture my special moment so I created a personalized magazine cover & newsletter for myself.  I ended up creating an entire portfolio of my designs & looked forward from there.

  • A diaper cake is simply a cake made out of diapers. When I make a diaper cake I use size 2 diapers so that the parents can keep the cake as a display until their infant is big enough to wear them.  Tucked throughout the cake are little baby items (nail clippers, brush, pacifiers, etc.)  To hold up the cake there is a bottle of shampoo in the middle. This cake (too) can be customized to your liking.  This one is just a sample.
